Wednesday April 2nd, 2008

I. Call to Order: 10:07 p.m.
- Approve Minutes: Minutes approved.

- Jacqui Newman, proxy: Ashley Davis.

- Kennard Smith, absent.

II. Senate Motions
- We will vote next week due to absences.
III. Old Business
- None.
IV. New Business
- Care to Share: This year we do not have any institutional support for the Care to Share program so I would appreciate it if anyone could make a commitment to participate in box pick-up. Let’s tentatively schedule pick-up for Tuesday of Dead Week.
- Plan 2008-2009 Executive Cabinet Dinner: Dinner with Dean Rucker is tentatively scheduled for the week of April 14th. Email me your free days this week so we can come up with a date.
- Spring Spirit Week: Dining Services and the UMW Bookstore are helping SGA put together a Spring Spirit Week called “Blue and Gray Days.”

- On Wednesday April 9th at 3:00 p.m. the new SGA Executive Cabinet members need to meet at the Battlegrounds and volunteer for a 30 minute shift grilling hot dogs.
- On Wednesday April 9th the UMW Bookstore will give any student wearing UMW apparel a 15% discount on all items excluding text books and computer software.
- On Thursday April 10th SGA is hosting an informal dance from 10:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m. in the Faculty Staff Dining Room. Kasey is going to need Exec. Cabinet’s help setting up for the dance because we may only have an hour to set up beforehand.
- On Thursday April 10th SGA is hosting a “Take Your Favorite Staff Member to Dinner” Night in the Faculty Staff Dining Room.
- As members of SGA Executive Cabinet, it is our job to spread the word about Spring Spirit Week. Our goal is to bring as many students out to the events as possible.
- The new Spirit Committee meetings for this year’s Homecoming and other upcoming events is starting up, so come and check it out if you’re interested.
V. Officer Reports
- President (Krishna Sinha): Proxy: I love you all.
- Vice-President (Jacqui Newman): The Safety Walk is Tuesday April 8th at 7:30 p.m. Ruth Lovelace is “giving us an hour of her time.” Senate is forming a team for the Students Helping Honduras Walkathon team. We still need 110 signatures for Constitutional Review.
- JRB (Sarah Goodrum): Absent.
- Honor Council (Stephen Gregg): Proxy: No report.
- LAC (Mary Wagoner): My report is the same as every other time. I am currently working on a new budget.
- AAC (Kate LeBoeuf): Proxy: I attended my first Faculty Senate meeting today. We still need the budget to be sent back from Richmond. They are aware of the school’s bandwidth problem and student complaints. The problem will be solved by Fall 2008.
- CSA (Eline Mul): Planning for our last breakfast is underway.
- ARH (Larisa Mount): Proxy: ARH has a new treasurer. Powder Puff went very well. We are still working on the Residence Life Banquet.
- Executive Coordinator (Kasey Walker): Don’t forget, when you are filing your credit card requests to make sure you get both (2) authorizing signatures.
- Press Secretary (Sean O’Brien): I will be doing publicity for Spring Spirit Week.
- Treasurer (Jason Philpott): Proxy: We are currently transitioning.
- Technology Coordinator (Sarah Bosworth): I would just like to say that I am the only one from last year’s Executive Cabinet that still attends meetings. I deserve “props.”
- Secretary (Christina Giaimo): I hope everyone has a great week and weekend!
- Executive Cabinet DUCC (Anthony DiRenzo): The PRISM-DUCC Meeting on Monday had great discussion. There will be another meeting sponsored by JSA next week, actual date to be announced. The books will soon be purchased. Transition is going well.
- Parliamentarian (Ashley Davis): Transition begins this week.
- ICA Representative (Kennard Smith): Absent. Proxy: Caitlin Varley. A cabinet has been elected and a Constitutional Review Committee has been elected.
VI. Announcements
- The Multi-Cultural Fair is this Saturday from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. in Ball Circle, come check it out!
- The White Ribbon Campaign starts tomorrow. White ribbons will be distributed in the Nest. Wear white in support of stopping violence against women.
- Sarah Bosworth gets “mad props” for still coming to the meetings.
