CSA & students meet with police

The Commuting Student Association sponsored a Parking and Safety Forum today, with the presence of UMW officials: Susan Knick, Ruth Lovelace, Chief Snipes, Mark Sandor, Ray Tuttle, Joseph Mollo and the UMW Public Relations’ Teresa Mannix. Commuter and residential students had the opportunity to bring up various concerns. Some of these were:

- Finding parking in front of Combs Hall (Knick will look into this)
- Improving security on campus (more blue lights will be accessible around the entire campus)
- High parking decal pricing (pays towards maintenance and deck)
-UMW will possibly look into creating designated parking places for everyone, as in other universities

Students’ concerns were addressed thoroughly as the new UMW President is heavily interested in using these feedbacks to improve the campus policies. Parking ‘cheat’ sheets were also passed out, along with free commuter pens. If there are any concerns, suggestions, or comments, students can contact: commutingstudents@gmail.com
